How to Get Your Nepal Visa
Most nationalities can get a Visa on Arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu or at land border crossings. The process is relatively straightforward but requires some preparation to avoid delays.
Before you travel, check the latest immigration rules as they can change. Ensure your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your intended stay and that you have at least one blank page for the visa sticker.
Visa Types and Fees
You can choose between 15, 30, or 90-day multiple-entry visas. The current fees are approximately:
- 15 Days: $30 USD
- 30 Days: $50 USD
- 90 Days: $125 USD
Fees are usually payable in major currencies like USD, EUR, or GBP at the airport. It's highly recommended to carry exact cash in USD to speed up the process.
Online Application
To save time at the airport, you can fill out the online application form on the official Nepal Immigration website up to 15 days before your arrival. After completing the form, print the confirmation page and bring it with you to the "Visa Fee Collection" counter.
Visa Extensions
If you decide to stay longer than your original visa allows, you can easily extend your visa at the Department of Immigration offices in Kathmandu or Pokhara. You can extend it for a total of 150 days in a single calendar year.
